A high ranking Socialist Party of Serbia (SPS) official last night threatened not to join the next cabinet unless he gets "all of" one of key ministries. Milutin Mrkonjic said he wants to head "a complete" ministry of infrastructure. Socialist wants only "whole ministry" "I do not wish to auction over the ministerial position with ignorant people," was his comment to recent reports that this ministry's sectors of construction and spatial planning might be separated. Mrkonjic also told journalists in Belgrade that DS leader and Serbian President Boris Tadic "gave him assurances" he would "conduct the project of Corridor 10 construction, and those of highways and railroads through our country". "Under my guidance, Corridor 10 would be finished in three to four years, the whole investment would cost EUR 5bn, and several hundred workers would be employed," the agencies quoted him as saying. But, Mrkonjic said, if the ministry were to split in two more sectors, he would not be able to realize the projects he has planned in the capacity of infrastructure minister.
