Kosovo Parliamentary Speaker Jakup Krasniqi says that Montenegro will soon recognize Kosovo’s unilaterally declared independence. “We’ve received positive confirmation from senior Montenegrin officials that they will soon recognize Kosovo,“ Podgorica daily Vijesti reports Krasniqi as saying. Pristina: Montenegro to recognize soon Senior Montenegrin officials have earlier said on a number of occasions that Podgorica will not be rushed into a decision on recognizing independence, and that it will carefully monitor international activities on the matter, and decide what is in Montenegro’s best state and national interests. The pro-Serbian opposition in Montenegro has repeatedly warned the Podgorica authorities not to recognize Kosovo.

Senior Montenegrin officials have earlier said on a number of occasions that Podgorica will not be rushed into a decision on recognizing independence, and that it will carefully monitor international activities on the matter, and decide what is in Montenegro’s best state and national interests.

The pro-Serbian opposition in Montenegro has repeatedly warned the Podgorica authorities not to recognize Kosovo.
