Kosovo Serbs' provisional parliament will be formed by June 15, it was announced in Kosovska Mitrovica on Friday. The chiefs of provincial boards of the Democratic Party of Serbia (DSS), the Radicals (SRS), the Democrats (DS), the Socialists (SPS) and G17 Plus decided to set up this body with participation of the MPs and in accordance with the delegate principle, SRS local head Ljubomir Kragovic said. Kosovo: Provisional Serb parliament Kragovic told today's session of the new Kosovska Mitrovica assembly that the formation of this provisional parliament was approved by the SRS and DSS main offices in Belgrade, and that they expect the other parties to also make their stand on this issue known. He explained that this move is in response to the Kosovo Albanians' unilateral independence proclamation and announcements that a Kosovo constitution would come into force by on same date: June 15. "We are threatened and we want everyone to get involved in this issue in order for the provisional parliament to start functioning here and, later, we expect the scheduling of provincial elections to enable citizens to elect their legitimate representatives and, afterwards, a legitimate council of Kosovo and Metohija," Kragovic said. The parliament will have 45 delegates, 43 of which will be come from the local Kosovo assemblies, while two seats will be reserved for representatives of Muslims and Roma. Meanwhile, in the divided northern Kosovo town of Kosovska Mitrovica, the municipal assembly met for its first session after the May 11 local ballot, as previously announced by the Ministry for Kosovo. Constitutive sessions have also been held in the municipalities of Zubin Potok, Prizren and Istok. Local authorities in Djakovica and Decani have already been formed, while last night in Gorazdevac, the Pec local assembly was also constituted. The Radicals and the DSS have taken over in Kosovska Mitrovica, with Nenad Toplicevic (SRS) appointed Kosovska Mitrovica's new municipal president. Six Democratic Party (DS) councilors decided not to attend the session today. They accused the Radicals and the DSS of conducting the meeting without following the necessary procedure.
