DSS spokesman Andreja Mladenovic says the agreement on a local government in Belgrade could collapse if the SPS sides with the Democrats at state level. He said that the Democratic Party of Serbia (DSS) had complete faith in its new coalition partners, with whom it had chosen to form a Belgrade government. However, he told B92 that this deal could potentially fall through. "Belgrade deal could depend on state coalition" “I am not sure that the local coalitions could remain as they are if there was a different coalition at state level. I am not sure that those coalitions would be able to survive, but that is a matter for the party bodies to decide on,” said the DSS spokesman. He said that he “personally does not believe that this will happen.” Meanwhile, youth groups from the SRS, DSS-NS and SPS held a performance in front of the Belgrade city hall today entitled “A Public Lesson in Democracy,” calling for the constitutive session of the Belgrade assembly to be held before July 14. SRS youth official Branislava Milenkovic, who played the role of teacher, wanted to know why President Boris Tadic, DS Belgrade official Dragan Djilas and acting Belgrade Mayor Zoran Alimpic were not at the meeting. She added that the decision to hold the assembly’s constitutive session on July 14 showed that that they needed a lesson in the meaning of democracy and respecting rights. The rally was also attended by officials from the SRS, DSS-NS, and the coalition gathered around the SPS, including Aleksandar Vucic, Andreja Mladenovic, Dubravka Filipovski and Aleksandar Antic. SRS Secretary-General Vucic said that the coalition would be holding similar protests, actions and performances over the coming days, with a view to bringing the constitutive session forward. Nor did he rule out the possibility of mass demonstrations, though he could not say exactly when, where and what form these demonstrations would take. A second performance has been organized for tomorrow in front of the city hall called “Resit”. According to the SRS secretary-general, peaceful protests would continue in agreement with the coalition partners. DSS, SRS, SPS officials in front of Belgrade City Hall (Beta)
