Though talks are yet to begun, the G17-Together for Kragujevac coalition is expected to try and form a ruling coalition with either the DS and the SPS. The Kragujevac assembly’s constitutive session is due to be held at the end of the month. Kragujevac: Hunt begins for coalition partners The G17 Plus-Together for Kragujevac coalition with 41 seats is three seats short of an outright majority, and will discuss formation of a new local authority with the Democratic Party (DS) and the Socialist Party of Serbia (SPS). Head of the winning list, serving Kragujevac Mayor Veroljub Stevanovic, says that even though he views the DS as a potential partner, there are people in that party at local level that he does not wish to be in a coalition with. Kragujevac Democrats say that the winning coalition’s policies are close to their own and that an agreement is possible. SPS local leader Obren Cetkovic says that his party’s councilors were a constructive opposition during the last mandate and helped the city’s development, and that he is expecting an invitation to talks.
