The Electoral Commission, RIK, late last night announced its new figures, based on 99.58 pct of counted votes from the Sunday parliamentary ballot. According to this, the coalition led by the Democrats (DS) won 38.44 percent of the ballots, and maintained the 102 seats in the new parliament, followed by the Serb Radical Party (SRS), which garnered 29.36 percent of the votes cast, or 78 seats, one up on previous result. The Bosniak coalition collected 0.92 percent of the votes cast, or two seats, while the Hungarian coalition received 1.83 percent, or four seats. The coalition of the Albanians of the Presevo Valley won 0.39 percent, or one seat in the Parliament. According to the commission's preliminary data, the results of the Democrat-led ticket were higher in Belgrade and Vojvodina than the coalition's average in Serbia, while the Radicals' best result was in Kosovo. The Tadic ticket won 37.94 percent of the votes in central Serbia, 41.78 in Vojvodina, 40.19 in Belgrade, and 14.39 percent in Kosovo. The coalition experienced its best result in the Northern Backa and South Banat districts, 45.62 and 45.19 percent, respectively, while the ticket received the fewest number of votes in the Pcinj district (25.45 percent). The Radicals won 29.36 percent of the ballots in all of Serbia, which is almost identical to their result in Belgrade (29.25 percent). In central Serbia, the Radicals won 28.90 percent, while its best result was in Kosovo (54.2 percent). The DSS-NS coalition also had a better showing in Kosovo (18.15) than its average in Serbia of 11.34 percent. In Belgrade, the coalition won 11.77 percent, while it fell below the average in Vojvodina with 6.98 percent of the ballots.
