Cedomir Jovanovic told a gathering of his party's supporters in Belgrade Saturday that an LDP victory would mean a victory of all Serbian citizens. The Liberal Democratic Party (LDP), which in the last elections crossed the five percent threshold, was holding its final rally in the capital ahead of the May 11 parliamentary and local elections. LDP holds final rally in Belgrade "This time we must win because we cannot live like this any longer. We wish for the whole of Serbia to celebrate on May 12, not just the LDP," he said, and added that at that point, "a line will be drawn", but that the job will not have been done. Jovanovic repeated his message to the Democratic Party (DS) and its leader Boris Tadic that the LDP is ready to cooperate, since the two parties are naturally directed at each other. He, however, stressed that the Democrats must first give up "Kostunica's principles", and say who their candidate for the next prime minister will be. More conditions set for the DS include pledging not to change policy on Vojvodina, and say whether the country will decentralize. Beside the party officials, activists and supporters, representatives of several embassies and NGOs also took part in the rally which ended without any incidents.
