An ethic Hungarian party expects to become a decisive force in the municipalities with a Hungarian majority, reports say. "The main goal of the Hungarian Coalition is to become a decisive political force in those local governments where there is a Hungarian majority," Alliance of the Vojvodina Hungarians (SVM) leader Istvan Pastor said Thursday in Senta. Speaking during a gathering of a local business community, Pastor said that local authorities must to be "close" to entrepreneurs to make sure that they can realize investments without excessive red tape. Besides the SVM, the Hungarian Coalition is made up of the Democratic Party of Vojvodina Hungarians and the Democratic Community of Vojvodina Hungarians. Serbia's parliamentary and local elections are scheduled for May 11.
