Cedomir Jovanovic, LDP, has called on Boris Tadic, DS, to "change his position on Serbia's problems". Otherwise, the leader of the Liberal Democrats (LDP) told a gathering in Boljevac, the citizens will change their position on Tadic. LDP leader criticizes DS counterpart "A vote for Tadic at this point is a vote for Kostunica and Nikolic, while the Democratic Party continues along the wrong road it has taken," Jovanovic stressed. At the same time he said that the LDP is "ready to take responsibility for the country's future". But Jovanovic explained that his party needs "greater political force in order to be able to finish the job", and that for this reason, the May 11 elections are a test for the DS voters, who, in his opinion, must pressure Tadic to change his policies. "If he is unable to make a change, then the voters should redirect their political support toward those who are capable of doing what Tadic is not – of returning Serbia on the right path of Zoran Djindjic," he said. Jovanovic sent a similar message yesterday from Bela Crkva, when he accused the political elite in the country of lacking responsibility. "Unfortunately, they continue with their policies at any price. Tadic says that between Kosovo and Europe, he chooses integrity, but this is not a choice between Kosovo and Europe, but between the past and the future, which no one has the right to take away from Serbia," the LDP leader said. He added that if after the elections he had a role in the government, he would meet with Pristina officials, Hashim Thaci included. "I would talk to all legally elected officials of the government in Kosovo, just as the greatest world powers' politicians are doing today," he was quoted as saying. Asked whether he was ready to change his position on Kosovo, something Tadic is said to condition a post-election cooperation with, Jovanovic said that would be irresponsible. "If Tadic wants partnership with the LDP, he will have to change," he said, and warned parties against "ignoring the reality".
