The Serb National Council of Kosovo chairwoman says Serbian local elections in the province will "bring risk to the Serb community". Rada Trajkovic was quoted by Tanjug news agency as saying that the ballot "brings possible destabilization, rather than peace and security" for the Serbs "forced to stay". "Local elections risky for Serbs" She told Novi Sad's Dnevnik newspaper that the elections, which UNMIK has denounced, will not provide a "functional and lasting" solution to the Serbs' "survival" in the province. "The local elections are not seen as a problem only bz UNMIK, but also bz the OSCE, since the vote would breach UN Resolution 1244," Trajkovic told the daily. She said that "especially south of the Ibar [River], in the enclaves, elected officials will not essentially rule the territory, since there are no territorial entities recognized in Kosovo".
