Nenad Canak has accused Vojislav Kostunica of “wanting to sell the Serbian Oil Industry (NIS) for a shamefully low price.” “The Democratic Party of Serbia-New Serbia (DSS-NS) coalition is giving away this country’s most valuable resource in order to receive support for its policies so that Kostunica can remain life-long prime minister. That clearly shows that he represents foreign interests,” the League of Vojvodina Social Democrats (LSV) leader told a rally in Bela Crkva today. Canak said that the Naftagas and Jugopetrol buildings in Novi Sad in Belgrade alone were worth more than EUR 600mn, while DSS-NS wanted to sell the whole of NIS for just EUR 400mn. The LSV leader said that the real patriots were the politicians who fought for the people of their country, for them to have a better standard of living, for them to live in a stronger country which was better respected.
