G17 Plus leader Mladjan Dinkic says he is certain the majority of Serbian citizens will choose the country's "speedy accession to the European Union". The minister for economy and regional development in the caretaker government added that the election list "For European Serbia - Boris Tadic" will form a new government with parties of ethnic minorities. "Majority will opt for moving closer to EU" "That will be the smallest and the most efficient government following October 5," Dinkic told the daily Vecernje Novosti. "The populist coalition has taken an about-turn and moved closer to the Radicals," he said of rivals the Democratic Party of Serbia (DSS). "They sacrificed the state-building policy for the sake of selfish petty partisan politics. The political differences between us are irreconcilable," Dinkic said, and added that the DSS leader Vojislav Kostunica "has changed completely". G17 Plus is allied in a pre-election coalition with President Boris Tadic's Democrats (DS), Nenad Canak's LSV, and Vuk Draskovic's SPO. The early parliamentary elections are scheduled for May 11.
