Kosovo District Crisis Headquarters say that progress has been made in the talks with Serb KPS officers. Kosovo District Chief Goran Arsic said that one positive step was that UNMIK was willing to work in order to help solve the problem. “Progress made in UNMIK negotitions” “Progress can be seen with (Larry) Wilson stressing that the suspensions of and disciplinary actions against Serb Kosovo Police Service (KPS) officers should be lifted, and everything written in their files should be erased, and he wants to open sub-stations in Serb communities,” Arsic said. He added that “a misunderstanding occurred within the chain of command, and Wilson is pushing for KPS police officers to work as they did up to February 17.” UNMIK Police Commissioner Larry Wilson said that negotiations with Serb KPS officials would continue today. “We have a united goal, and we have made some progress. We will continue to talk in order to reach a solution, and our final goal is for the KPS police officers to return to their jobs,” Wilson stressed.
