The Serb National Council of Kosovo wants an urgent meeting with President Boris Tadic and PM Vojislav Kostunica. The appeal came Wednesday "in order to make a unified approach and front of action that would ensure the survival of all Serbs and the state of Serbia in Kosovo-Metohija", the SNV said. K. Serbs want meeting with Tadic, Kostunica "Reviewing the overall situation in the province, especially after the unilateral declaration of independence of Kosovo-Metohija, the SNV executive committee on Wednesday concluded that the general survival of Serbs in Kosovo-Metohija was brought into question because of the lack of security for Kosovo Serbs and especially the deterioration of the situation after Serbs left the police," a statement said. "The unsynchronized and disunited approach in the adoption of decisions on the policy towards Kosovo institutions by state bodies and relevant Kosovo Serbs, particularly contributes to this, and additionally weakens the already divided Serb community and its outcome might affect the Serb survival in this territory," the committee said in the statement. The SNV executive committee shares the concern of Serbs in the central part of the province and other Serb-populated environments that Belgrade's policy and approach to the resolution of the situation before and especially after Feb. 17 "intensely focused on the preservation of the north of the province, while other parts of Kosovo-Metohija were neglected".
