Prime Minister Vojislav Kostunica today supported the daily student protests in Kosovska Mitrovica. He told the participants, who take to the streets of the divided northern Kosovo town each day at 12:44 CET, that Serbia will never give up on the province. Kostunica backs students, lashes out at U.S. "You, the youth of Serbia, are demonstrating today to all of us how to love our country, how to love Kosovo, how to love Serbia. The whole country is proud of you and supports you with great excitement", Kostunica wrote in his message. According to the prime minister, the United Stats have taken upon themselves a historic responsibility to break international law on which the world's peace and stability rest. "Not even the Munich Agreement in 1938, when Hitler snatched Sudetenland, compares with this legal violence, since the Czechs then agreed to sign off a part of their territory." "Serbia has not, and never will, sign any unworthy paper that will hand over Kosovo and Metohija," he continued. "During this huge and difficult temptation, the Serb people has shown the strength and dignity of a great nation, which knows that justice, legality and freedom mean," Kostunica added. "Today, a sense of pride is felt in Serbia, the pride of a free nation that will not be a subject to violence and injustice. We will, every day, as a nation and as a state, show resistance, until the United States are convinced that the rule of international law must be established in the Balkans once again, and that the illegal recognition of a fake state must be revoked," the prime minister said. "It is possible that America, with its great power haughtiness, thought that the Serb people are weak and to be pushed around. But in time, they will realize the greatness of Serbia as she fights for justice and legality," Kostunica warned. "Each day, Serbia will, step by step, keep winning in this struggle, and it the end she will prevail. Because Kosovo is Serbia, this is how it has been, this is how it will be. You are, my dear friends, today setting a direction for Serbia, and we will follow," the prime minister concluded in his message to the Kosovo Serb students.
