Germany, Austria, Norway recognize Kosovo

Chancellor Angela Merkel's government has recognized Kosovo's unilateral declaration of independence, reports say. Germany has also expressed willingness to establish diplomatic relations with Pristina. Similar announcements were made today in Vienna and Oslo. Germany, Austria, Norway recognize Kosovo Serbia is rejecting both the ethnic Albanians' proclamation and its recognition as illegal and contrary to internatial law. Officially, Kosovo's independence was recognized by Albania, Afghanistan, Australia, Costa Rica, Great Britain, France, Turkey, the United States, and, Taiwan, which is itself not internationally recognized. The government is expected to issue orders summoning all the Serbian ambassadors to these countries home.
