Belgrade: Creation of false state

The Kosovo Albanians yesterday adopted a unilateral declaration of independence which Belgrade and Moscow swiftly rejected. Serbian leaders called the act the creation of a false state on Serbian territory, an assessment Moscow agrees with. Belgrade: Creation of false state President Boris Tadic, Prime Minister Vojislav Kostunica and Serb Radical Party leader Tomislav Nikolic said that a large-scale protest would be held in Belgrade and that a parliamentary session would be scheduled as soon as possible. The three leaders met in Belgrade later Sunday to agree on the country's next moves. Tadic said that Serbia would do everything to “annul the illegal proclamation of Kosovo independence.” In his televised speech earlier in the day, Kostunica said that the unilateral proclamation of the “fake country of Kosovo is the final act of political aggression which began with the 1999 NATO bombing of Serbia." The prime minister also called on Serbian citizens to show the world that they oppose the creation of a quasi-state on Serbia’s territory.
