The Kosovo parliament will almost certainly declare independence on February 17, says Pristina daily Koha Ditore. However, the paper adds that the decision will not come into force until March. "Declaration day: February 17" “It seems as though the countdown to Kosovo’s declaration of independence will end this time, as there will not be any further delays,” says today’s edition of the Pristina daily, quoting diplomatic sources in Brussels. It is a part of a coordinated process between Pristina, Washington and Brussels, say sources in Brussels and other European capitals. Under that scenario, the Kosovo parliament would declare independence on February 17. The following day at a meeting of foreign ministers, the EU’s common platform will be formulated, according to which individual member-states will be left to decide independently on whether to recognize the declaration.
