The latest opinion polls show that Boris Tadic has more support than his opponent Tomislav Nikolic. Tadic, the leader of the Democrats (DS), and Nikolic, the deputy president of the Serb Radical Party (SRS), are headed for a face-off in the polls in the second round of the presidential election Sunday. Latest polls give Tadic slight lead The Center for Democracy and Free Elections, CeSID, today revealed its latest public opinion survey results, which show that Tadic can at this moment count on 2.1 and 2.35 million votes, while 2-2.25 million voters would cast their ballots in favor of Nikolic. CeSID also told a press conference in Belgrade today that a televised debate, scheduled for this evening, could influence the numbers further. The organization's representatives added that if the difference between the two candidates is less than 100,000 votes, it will not announce its projections on the day, until the all the ballots have been counted. The campaigning continues today and Thursday. At midnight tomorrow, all party activities will cease to observe election silence, which will be lifted as the polls close at 8 p.m. Sunday.
