After an attack on DS activists, their colleagues today reportedly returned the favor to their Radical counterparts. The job given to party activists, to put up posters of their candidates in the presidential race, seems to be getting more risky. President condemns campaign scuffles After two Democratic Party (DS) members, including one woman, were assaulted last week in the capital while promoting President Boris Tadic's bid to be reelected, to later point the finger at the rival Radicals (SRS) camp, today the Radical activists say one of them came under attack in Belgrade. Tadic has now stepped in to condemn the incidents, and call all parties to conduct fair and peaceful campaigns, branding both incidents unacceptable. The president also urged the police (MUP) to investigate and identify the perpetrators, a presidential press service release says. Earlier today, the SRS said that "two DS activists attacked and seriously injured" the party's city board chairman, Nemanja Sarovic. A statement from the Radicals addresses Tadic and warns him that "SRS will know how to protect the integrity of every citizen in Serbia." The Emergency Center reported Sarovic's injuries to be bruises and contusions. He also received three stitches as immediate medical help. The Radicals say that their Belgrade board president was out in the streets at five this morning putting up Tomislav Nikolic's posters, when the men attacked him, allegedly shouting "Boris is king", along with invectives related to Sarovic's political affiliation.
