The Kosovo Ministry has launched a media campaign entitled “Kosovo is Serbia“. The campaign has been launched, says the ministry, with the aim of promoting activities “to preserve Serbia’s territorial integrity and the dignity of all its citizens,“ and expresses “the endeavours of Serbian democracy to preserve the values that the West adopted long ago“. They include quotes from Abraham Lincoln, George Washington, Winston Churchill, Charles De Gaulle, John F. Kennedy and Willy Brandt – statesmen whose views were crucial in their impact on the formation of a political culture and values that modern societies, such as the U.S., Great Britain, France and Germany are built on. “The selected quotations express an awareness of the need to protect and defend the national interests of democratic society in momentous historical moments, as well as to preserve values such as persistence, morality, justice, seriousness and responsibility,“ says the Kosovo Ministry. The “Kosovo is Serbia“ campaign, it claims, “points to the similarity between the challenges Serbia is faced with today and reaffirms the political values and democratic standards that western civilization is founded on.“ “In that same tradition, Serbia is now being called upon to patiently seek a compromise solution for Kosovo’s future status, for the well-being of Serbs, Albanians, and other nationalities,“ concludes the statement.
