Olli Rehn says Serbia could realize the necessary steps in 2008 and adopt the laws for further integration into the EU. "The democratic game" has been enhanced in the Parliament lately, and Serbian MPs are now working much better on Serbia's European integration, the EU enlargement commissioner stated after meeting with Parliament Speaker Oliver Dulic. Rehn, Dulic meet in Brussels Rehn stressed that the European Commission is working on the adoption of all technical measures by the end of December in order to prepare the Serbia-EU agreement on stabilization for signing and the adoption of the temporary agreement, as soon as the political conditions are realized. Dulic stated that he had acquainted Rehn with the Parliament's preparations to speed up the adoption of laws in accordance with EU legislation, and to become "the engine of European integrations" through new rules of procedure and a Law on the Parliament. When asked to comment on the appraisal given in the European Commission's annual report on the progress of reforms in Serbia that "democratic forces in Serbia are fragile," Dulic answered that he had pointed out to Rehn that Serbia is going through a very difficult transition, with many poor and unemployed people.
