Dusan Janjic said Tuesday an international conference on Kosovo's future "has not been ruled out." The director of the Forum for Ethnic Relations said such a conference could resemble the one in Dayton in 1995, which brought an end to the war in Bosnia-Hercegovina. Could Dayton-style conference work for Kosovo? Janjic added that while a conference is possible, it is unlikely to take place until after the Russian presidential elections in March next year. "That means that Belgrade would then put Plan B into practice: correcting borders and accepting Kosovo independence," said Janjic. He added that this would happen if, in the meantime, the U.S., the EU and Russia failed to come to a more "sensible solution." "What the EU has suggested is much more sensible, with a division of sovereignty, a part of which would be assumed by the EU." "But, Prime Minister Vojislav Kostunica didn’t want to hear this idea out," concluded Janjic.
