An extraordinary session of the Serbian parliament has been scheduled for today in Belgrade. The main item on the agenda today will be the selection of the governor of the National Bank of Serbia (NBS). Parliament to appoint central bank governor At the request of 124 parliamentary officials, the extraordinary sessions was scheduled by Speaker Oliver Dulic, since the Finance Council has submitted its proposal for the selection of the governor. The only candidate is current governor Radovan Jelasic, who was nominated for the position by the G17 Plus, a junior partner in the ruling coalition. The selection of the chief of the central bank, who has a mandate of five years, is stipulated according to Constitutional Law.
