Instructions for a new relief visa regime for Serbian citizens will shortly be dispatched, Beta reports. In the next few weeks, the European Commission will send instructions to all EU countries' consulate for issuing visas according to a new regime, set to come into effect after New Year. EU to introduce new visa policy Riccardo Mosca, the press representative of the cabinet of EU's Freedom, Justice and Security Commissioner Franco Frattini, told the agency that these were instructions to the authorities and the staff in the EU embassies and consulates for issuing visas "faster, easier, in a more practical and harmonized manner" to Serbian citizens traveling to the EU. The new visa regime will also be applied to the other Western Balkan countries which, like Serbia, have signed agreements on visa relief and readmission with the EU on September 17. The EC official said that there was a possibility of opening centers in other places in the Western Balkans, such as the Center for Implementing the Visa Agreement between EU and Montenegro, to be opened in the Slovenian Embassy in Montenegro at the beginning of October.
