The president and the foreign minister left for New York on Saturday for a series of bilateral meetings. Tadic and Jeremic both have busy schedules ahead of a direct round of talks between Belgrade and Pristina scheduled for September 28, on the fringes of UN General Assembly 62nd session, that began last week. Tadic, Jeremic in New York ahead of Kosovo talks On Monday, Tadic is expected to deliver a speech at a high-level meeting dedicated to climate changes and global warming, and later attend a session of the Business Council for International Understanding. The president, joined by Jeremic, will afterwards meet with Italian Prime Minister Romano Prodi and Foreign policy chiefs of Greece and Bulgaria, Dora Bakoyannis and Ivail Kalfin. Tadic and Jeremic will also talk with UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon, Russian and French foreign ministers, Sergei Lavrov and Bernard Kouchner and NATO Secretary-General Jaap de Hoop Scheffer. They will also meet with the German chief of diplomacy, Frank-Walter Steinmeier, and Chinese Foreign Minister Yang Jiechi. The direct negotiations between Belgrade and Pristina teams will take place in the Council of Europe (CoE) New York office. Prime Minister Vojislav Kostunica and Kosovo Minister Slobodan Samardzic will join Tadic and Jeremic on Wednesday.
