“School of Democracy” in Belgrade

The annual school and camp are held in Belgrade for the first time this year. The event is organized by the Social Democratic Youth Group and the Friedrich Ebert Foundation.

One of the goals of the camp is to "free the participators of the mistakes and misinformation of the past", the organizers said.

Nenad Čelarević of the Social Democratic Union said that the ideas of the leftists have been "ruined over the last 20 years".

“Because of this, we are trying to work with young people and talk about social democracy and socialism. We are trying to activate young people because many of them feel like leftists, but do not want to accept social democracy as an ideology because that word has been tainted here,” Čelarević said.
