Davis backs integrity of CoE members
“Until now, everybody has agreed that the status decision should be made in the UN Security Council. I have not talked with anyone about what might happen if Kosovo gained statehood outside the UN,” Davis said.Speaking of the differences between Montenegro's independence and the Kosovo case, Davis said that when Serbia and Montenegro agreed on forming the state union, they left an option of separation on the basis of which Montenegro called the May 2006 referendum.
“It is extremely important that you communicate my entire position on the issue, since some Serbian media outlets chose to convey only a part of it,” he said.
“I support territorial integrity of all CoE member states, including Serbia, and I will continue with my backing unless the UN decides to change borders,” Davis said.
