Thaci: Kosovo needs supervision

“I want to believe that Russia too will be a part of the international decision to grant Kosovo independence,” Thaci told the newspaper, and stressed the United States strongly supported that outcome, which he described as the only possible.

Thaci also said he hoped the UN Security Council would adopt a new Kosovo resolution determining the province’s status very soon.  

According to him, Kosovo’s assembly would then declare independence, “to be recognized first by the U.S. and the EU”.

Thaci described independent Kosovo as “a state of all its inhabitants, regardless of their ethnic, religious or other identity, a land of peace and stability”.
