Calls for peace in Kosovo
NATO Secretary General Jaap de Hoop Scheffer sent a message to the people of Kosovo from Brussels that no one should venture to test NATO forces in Kosovo, because “KFOR is prepared for all eventualities”.UNMIK Chief Joachim Rücker met Foreign Affairs Minister of France Philippe Douste-Blazy in Paris to discuss the situation in Kosovo and said afterwards that UNMIK’s major concern were the expectations of Kosovo’s people regarding Ahtisaari’s proposal.
In preparing the public for the upcoming changes, Kosovo Prime Minister Agim Ceku leads the way by constantly appealing for common sense. He called on Kosovo citizens to disregard all invitations coming from irresponsible individuals and groups demanding reactions to current events, which he said were actually unfolding to the benefit of Kosovo. He warned that any disturbance in Kosovo would be fatal for the fate of the province.
