Polt: Kosovo hinders EU accession for Serbia

He added that the US wanted a solution for Kosovo to be found quickly and that its people had the right to know what kind of future was in store for them.

When asked whether an independent Kosovo was the future, Polt replied that a possibility for such scenario existed,  remarking that other solutions were possible as well.

When asked to comment the speculation that the unilateral proclamation of Kosovo independence without Serbia’s consent would set a historical precedent, Polt retorted that any human action is a precedent. The US Ambassador concludes that the Kosovo issue has become one of a kind ever since Milošević launched military operations in Kosovo.
