Nikolić said his party chose the protest rally venue since the U.S. embassy was the place where, according to him, both the Serbian PM and president went to get their orders and submit reports.

He also told the rally that the Radicals were set to fulfill the task Vojislav Šešelj gave them and were ready to win.

“Vojislav Šešelj has already won and entered the most precious part of the Serb history no matter what happens at the Hague. Serbia will rise and be a state of proud and carefree people. Vojislav Šešelj will last longer than we do, and children in Serbia will say his name with pride. Just as they say the names of Milan Tepić or Nikola Tesla”, Nikolić said.

The protest was supported by several public figures, including Brana Crnčević, Kosta Čavoški, Branko Rakić and Rajko Petrov Nogo.

“This act puts him on level plane with Ghandi, who fought for independence. On a level plane with Mandela, who fought against the apartheid. Vojislav Šešelj is world’s pioneer anti-globalist”, one of the speakers said.

Meanwhile, Tanjug agency reports that Šešelj, who is still on a hunger strike at the Hague detention unit, has agreed to be examined by an independent medical team.

Refik Hodžić, the Tribunal’s spokesman, said the medical team consisting of Serbian, French and Russian doctors, will examine Šešelj on Monday.
