Principle visa relaxation agreement adopted

According to this proposal, the EU would not increase visa prices for Serbia, Montenegro, Albania, Bosnia-Herzegovina and Macedonia, while certain groups of citizens, such as students, would obtain visas more easily.

The proposal of the EU ambassadors will be given to the Foreign Ministers, who will meet in Brussels on Monday, and the discussions with countries of the West Balkans should begin at the end of this month or beginning of December, according to senior officials in Brussels.

The decision for giving visa relaxations to citizens of West Balkans countries for traveling in the EU aims to increase direct contact between Union citizens and citizens of the Balkan region, along with the exchange of information and technology throughout the region.

Other Balkan countries such as Croatia, Bulgaria and Romania are not included in this proposal since they are already excuses from paying higher visa prices.
