Figel to meet with Tadić
Figel will also hold a lecture on the topic of “Serbia’s European Perspective: From the idea to achieving the goal.”The lecture will be attended by Education Minister Slobodan Vuksanović, European Commission Delegation chief Josep Lloveras and BU President Dejan Popović.
During his first day in Belgrade, Figel participated in an international conference entitled “The role of education and European integration.”
He also met with Minister Vuksanović and Serbian Deputy Prime Minister Ivana Dulić-Marković. Figel also visited the Slovak community in Vojvodina.
Asked about visa relaxations for students and scholars in Serbia, Figel said that he is “encouraged by the messages” he has received from the European Union this week.
Before coming to Belgrade, Figel announced that the mandate of the European Commission’s discussions regarding visa relaxations for Serbia and the region should be adopted by the beginning of November, adding that the EU might abolish visa requirements for students and scholars from Serbia.
