Survey shows referendum will succeed
The survey was conducted in between October 12 – 16. It states that 3.15 million citizens will “definitely” participate in the referendum and that 1.32 million will “probably” participate.CESID official Marko Blagojević said that the participation will depend on the events taking place on the Serbian political scene around the referendum dates of October 28-29.
“We confirmed that more than 70 percent of Serbian voters respect the unity shown in the ability of the parities to reach an agreement.” Blagojević said.
The largest percentage of those who will participate in the referendum, 55 percent, see it as their responsibility and obligation. Every tenth person surveyed found it important that the new constitution confirms Kosovo as a part of Serbia.
The most common reason given for not participating is a lack of interest in politics and a lack of trust in politicians.
