G17 to make decision tomorrow

If G17 exits the government it would block the work of the parliament as well, at a moment when crucial political activities regarding the new constitution are being worked on within the parliament.

Marko Blagojević of CESID said that a blocking of the parliament’s work could occur if the parliament decides to vote for replacements for the Finance Ministry and all of the other positions now occupied by G17 Plus officials.

“But the question is, would the parliament even try to, because there still have been no formal selections made for the foreign affairs or defense ministries either.” Blagojević said.

He added that it is possible for Prime Minister Vojislav Koštunica to not accept the resignations, which would look like a political game to the public, because all of the G17 officials were very clear in stating that if they leave on October 1, they have no intentions of continuing to occupy their positions within the government and parliament.
