A question of life or politics

Polt said that Serbian politicians must be honest toward the population when talking about the eventual results of the Kosovo status discussions, and that the options are either independence or autonomy. He said that human rights are not a part of the deal, but a universal standard.

Asked whether the US will continue its cooperation with Serbia is the Serbian Radical Party wins the next elections, Polt said that the US will not work with elements that go against reforms and the European future of Serbia and wish to repeat the mistakes of the past.

He recommended to the democratic bloc in Serbia to make a clear distinction between itself and the Serbian Radical Party so that the citizens will be able to know what they are choosing. “Do you want a Serbia that accepts the package of values that will lead you to a better life which the citizens deserve, or do you want another Serbia, one that looks with anger at the past, and at the future, one that refuses to take responsibility for the events that occurred in the name of the Serbian people, and for which the Serbian people are not to blame.” Polt said.
