Dačić welcomes "good news" from Hague

BELGRADE Serbian PM Ivica Dacic late on Thursday reacted to the acquittal at the Hague Tribunal of former Yugoslav Army (VJ) General Momcilo Perisic. According to Dacic, the decision was "of great importance for Serbia and the Serb people". Dacic welcomes "good news" from Hague The prime minister explained that he saw significance in the court's ruling because he believes that it "negates accusations about the alleged aggression of the Army of Yugoslavia against Bosnia and Croatia". "That is finally some good news from the Hague," said he. Dacic also told reporters that barring legal or technical problem, Perisic would fly back to Serbia on Friday morning in a government plane. The Appeals Chamber of The Hague-based UN war crimes court on Thursday overturned a previous ruling that found Perisic, a former VJ chief of staff, guilty of aiding and abetting crimes committed in Bosnia-Herzegovina and Croatia from August 1993 until November 1995.
