JAGODINA Serbian government’s Office for Kosovo Director Aleksandar Vulin has stated that the state will not renounce its institutions in the north of the province. He added that the state would continue to finance its institutions in Kosovo. “Serbian institutions to remain in Kosovo” “We will continue to finance everything that exists. Wages and social security payments will arrive on the first day of the month, electricity bills will arrive and everything that makes a normal life will continue,” Vulin told Jagodina-based Palma Plus TV. He said that Serbia “will not trade northern Kosovo for a date for the beginning of the EU accession talks”. “Not because me and the government are big patriots but because this simply is not possible. I hope that our European friends will understand that and that they will not request that,” the Office for Kosovo director said. He assessed that an exodus of the remaining Serbs would follow if the Serbian institutions were abolished and that those who remained in Kosovo would not be able to make a living. Commenting on the Resolution on Kosovo that was adopted by the European Parliament (EP) two days ago, Vulin said that it was not binding and that Serbia was grateful to the five EU member states that had not recognized Kosovo’s independence. “Earlier, no one paid attention to what Serbia thought, now they are starting to. This is a slow process but something has changed,” he concluded. Aleksandar Vulin (Beta, file) Beta
