KOSOVSKA MITROVICA Kosovo Serb associations have announced they will launch a petition for abolishment of all agreements on Kosovo reached in the Belgrade-Pristina talks. Serbo-Slavic Solidarity Association, People’s Movement Homeland and Old Serbia Movement Presidents Vladimir Rakic, Igor Vojinovic and Zlatibor Djordjevic announced at a press conference in northern Kosovska Mitrovica that the signing of the petition would start on Thursday. Kosovo Serbs want Belgrade-Pristina deals scrapped Vojinovic said that the petition would call on the Serbian president, the government and the Serbian parliament to “annul all the agreements because they are gradually closing all Serbian institutions in Kosovo”. “The agreements are an alibi for Albanian terrorists and separatists to continue grabbing the territory and killing Serbs,” he stressed. The coalition agreement between the Serbian Progressive Party (SNS), Socialist Party of Serbia (SPS) and the United Regions of Serbia (URS) says that “it is necessary to implement everything that has been agreed in the technical dialogue with Pristina and continue the dialogue at a political level with participation of top state officials”. Rakic said that the aim is to explain all the agreements in detail to the people. “We are doing what citizens in Kosovo are saying, our petition, that we will send to Belgrade, contains it and we will request that their implementation does not begin,” he said. Djordjevic called on the Serbian authorities not to accept the agreements because “they are harmful to the Serbs in Kosovo and to the state of Serbia”. “If the implementation of the agreements’ regulations continues, the Serbs will move out from the province en masse which will have big economic consequences in Serbia,” he explained. The Belgrade and Pristina negotiating teams have reached numerous agreements, including the one on the freedom of movement and joint crossing management. (Tanjug, file) Beta
