The summit of the Black Sea Economic Cooperation (BSEC) will be held in Istanbul on June 26 and it would be chaired by Serbian President Tomislav Nikolić.

The summit of the Black Sea Economic Cooperation (BSEC) will be held in Istanbul on June 26 and it would be chaired by Serbian President Tomislav Nikolic. The Serbian president will chair the meeting together with Turkish President Abdullah Gul. Nikolic to chair BSEC summit on Tuesday Tanjug has learnt in the Serbian presidency, Nikolic will travel to Istanbul immediately upon return from Brazil, where he attended the three-day UN summit Rio +20. The Istanbul summit will mark the 20th anniversary of the constitution of BSEC which Serbia is chairing from January 1 to July 1, when Turkey would take over the chairmanship. BSEC countries are Serbia's important economic partner and the data of the Serbian Chamber of Commerce (PKS) show that the country recorded foreign exchange worth USD 7.9bn with the BSEC region last year. Serbia's exports to BSEC countries in 2011 accounted for 22.7 percent of its entire exports, while import from the BSEC region added up to 26.1 percent, PKS experts told Tanjug. BSEC gathers 12 member countries, Albania, Azerbaijan, Bulgaria, Georgia, Greece, Armenia, Moldova, Romania, Russia, Serbia, Turkey and Ukraine and some countries and other organizations have the status of observers, such as Austria, Belarus, Croatia, the Czech Republic, Egypt, France, Israel, Italy, Poland, Slovakia, Tunisia and the U.S. Serbia's most important foreign exchange partners within BSEC are the Russian Federation and Romania. Tanjug has learnt in the Serbian presidency, Nikolić will travel to Istanbul immediately upon return from Brazil, where he attended the three-day UN summit Rio +20.
