Vojislav Seselj's wife Jadranka will be Serb Radical Party (SRS) candidate in the presidential election on May 6, the SRS has decided. SRS Deputy Leader Aleksandar Martinovic, who has so far been mentioned as a possible candidate, nominated Jadranka Seselj. Seselj's wife enters presidential race The SRS said in a statement that Jadranka has proven her courage, consistency and readiness to sacrifice herself in the past ten years since her husband has been in the Hague Tribunal detention. “Serbia needs a host that will take care of it and sacrifice themselves for it the way Jadranka Seselj is taking care of her family and sacrifices herself for it,“ the SRS Presidential Collegium stressed. The SRS believes that the elections are the last chance to change the current “disastrous state policy” and that the citizens will choose between “the policy of humiliation and taking Serbia to pieces” offered by Democratic Party (DS) leader Boris Tadic and Serbian Progressive Party (SNS) leader Tomislav Nikolic and the policy of Serbia’s national recovery offered by the Radicals. After the announcement that the presidential elections will be held on May 6, the SRS said that their candidate would be Martinovic but Seselj changed the decision in the meantime. The Hague tribunal indictee’s decision has surprised many, especially bearing in mind Jadranka’s recent statement that she has never been involved in any of the SRS’ campaigns. “There is nothing I can say about it. I did not even think I should. If I wanted to I believe that Vojislav would have nothing against it. Maybe he would even like it. Maybe I could get some cheap points and I did not want that. The SRS said in a statement that Jadranka has proven her courage, consistency and readiness to sacrifice herself in the past ten years since her husband has been in the Hague Tribunal detention.
