Romania ratifies SAA with Serbia

The Romanian Senate has ratified the Stabilization and Association Agreement between the EU and Serbia, said reports on Wednesday.

The Romanian Senate has ratified the Stabilization and Association Agreement between the EU and Serbia, said reports on Wednesday. The Senate ratified the SAA with a total of 78 yes votes, five votes against the document and three abstentions. Romania ratifies SAA with Serbia During the relevant plenary session, Romanian Foreign Minister Cristian Diaconescu said that Romania was pursuing a policy of constant support to Serbia's European integration. Romania has thus become the 26th EU member to ratify the agreement, and the last country remaining to do so is Lithuania. The SAA between the EU and Serbia will come into force when it is ratified by all 27 Euro-bloc members. The agreement was signed in the spring of 2008. Tanjug
