Serbian President Boris Tadic says he is ready to meet with Hashim Thaci "only if the talks would contribute to the solving of issues in Kosovo and Metohija". Such a meeting would not be acceptable "if it were to serve as promotion of Kosovo's statehood, symbolic verbal sparring or political folklore". Tadic would meet with Thaci "only for constructive talks" Tadic added that there was room for talks "if the other side is ready to discuss the four-point plan, or another plan." At a news conference after the trilateral meeting between Bosnia-Herzegovina, Croatia and Serbia on Friday, Tadic said he was "not ready to hold talks with Thaci only for the sake of meeting him and providing the media with something to report on, but rather because it is necessary for the talks to be effective and bring certain improvements". He recalled that he had once conferred with Thaci during the talks held during the rule of (Vojislav Kostunica - so there is no 'personal obstacle' for such a meeting." "Moreover, such talks must not be used for the promotion of Kosovo's statehood, because the talks need to contribute to the solving of issues, and not serve as symbolic verbal sparring or political folklore," Tadic underlined. Boris Tadic (Tanjug) Thaci "ready" Kosovo Prime Minister Hashim Thaci told Macedonian Alfa TV that he was ready to meet with Serbian President Boris Tadic. I am ready to sit down with Tadic in order to talk about these issues. I want to point out that we will be deciding on Kosovo’s internal policy on our own,” the Kosovo Albanian official was quoted as saying.
