Slobodan Homen says Bosnia's Prosecution "should be asked if the decision to suspend the probe into the Dobrovoljacka St. case was made based on evidence". Unless that is the case, the Bosnian Prosecution should clarify whether the decision was politically influenced, "or came as a result of the Prosecutor's Office unpreparedness to handle crimes committed by non-Serbs", said the Serbian Justice Ministry state secretary. Bosnian prosecution "should explain Dobrovoljacka decision" The Bosnian Prosecutor's Office suspended its investigation against Bosnian Muslim politician and former member of the country's Presidency Ejup Ganic and 13 more suspects in the massacre committed in Sarajevo in early May 1992. 42 members of the Yugoslav People's Army (JNA) were killed, 73 were wounded, and 215 were imprisoned when their convoy was ambushed as it was retreating from the town. The Bosnian Prosecution said that "there is no evidence that the suspects committed the crimes", and announcing an investigation against other suspects. "Serbia neither claims nor believes anyone is guilty, it is up to the judicial bodies to determine that. It would be best if the Bosnia bodies did that, taking into account that the crime was committed on the Bosnia territory. If that is not possible, there are international institutions, and of course the Prosecutor's Office of Serbia, which will by all means continue the investigation," Homen stated after the Serbian government session. Homen pointed out that genuine regional reconciliation cannot be achieved unless all perpetrators of crimes are held responsible, assessing it is a shame that the Bosnia Prosecutor's Office made a decision to suspend the investigation in the Dobrovoljacka Street case. "I believe it is a shame that such a decision was made, because certain people who committed crimes will avoid criminal responsibility. All perpetrators of criminal acts should be held responsible, and all regional countries should accept that, including Bosnia," Homen pointed out.
