The night in northern Kosovo went by peacefully and the citizens continued keeping guard at the barricades on roads towards the Jarinje and Brnjak checkpoints. Serbs also spent the night at the barricades on all main roads in Kosovo. Northern Kosovo Serbs spend night at barricades There are currently 18 barricades, one of which is located outside of the territory of the southern Serbian province, on the road running from central Serbia towards Jarinje. The representatives of the local self-governments of northern Kosovo announced on Sunday that the citizens would persevere in their requests for Kosovo customs officers and police to be removed from the Jarinje and Brnjak crossings, adding that they were prepared to remain at the barricades during the forthcoming winter. They have also announced they would respond to any attempt of international forces to remove the barricades by setting two new ones. A murder of a Serb in the village of Zrze in the Orahovac municipality on Saturday night disturbed the Kosovo Serbs. According to the police, 51-year-old Aleksandar Putnik was murdered, while his 25-year-old son Dobrica was wounded as they were shot near a restaurant some time after midnight. The Serbian Ministry for Kosovo has requested that the EULEX police take over the investigation into the attack because the local Serb community has no trust in the Kosovo police. The Serbs in northern Kosovo celebrated on Sunday evening the gold medal won by Serbia's women's national volleyball team at the European Championship in Belgrade, by raising flags and setting off fireworks.
