Kosovo police special units (ROSU), that were on their way to administrative checkpoints in northern Kosovo this morning, have returned to the base. The police units first headed toward northern Kosovo but later went west from Kosovska Mitrovica. "Kosovo special police units return to base" Serbia’s Ministry for Kosovo State Secretary Oliver Ivanovic earlier on Wednesday accused the Kosovo Albanian authorities in Pristina of "attempting to provoke the Serb community" by sending "some special forces" to the Serb-dominated north of the province. Ivanovic specified that these forces were headed toward the town of Leposavic under the pretext that they would be "holding an exercise" there. The ministry official noted that EULEX, KFOR and the International Civilian Office "had not been informed about this". "This is pure provocation. However, Serbs in the north of Kosovo are monitoring every road and know about their every move. Also, Serbs should not fall for these provocations coming from Pristina," Ivanovic stated earlier today. In Pristina, an Interior Ministry official said there were "no unusual activities" in Kosovo on Wednesday. "There have been no unusual activities of the members of the ministry in any part of Kosovo," Fisnik Redzepi was quoted as saying. Serbs start removing barricade Serbs started removing part of the barricade in the village of Rudare near Zvecan, which was set up on the road Mitrovica-Raska on July 26 to prevent passage of the Kosovo Police Service special unit to the Jarinje administrative crossing. Ivanovic told Tanjug that Serbs started removing part of the barricade Tuesday afternoon, and that the decision on removal was reached at a meeting of the crisis staff of heads of four municipalities in the north of Kosovo and officials from Belgrade. “The pace of removal will depend on the Kosovo government's behavior,” Ivanovic said, adding that if the Pristina authorities did not play by the rules, the barricade would be set up again and would remain there until further notice. The barricade in the village of Rudare is the only remaining roadblock in the north of Kosovo out of the three major ones that were set up in the night of July 26, when members of the Kosovo police special unit headed towards the Jarinje and Brnjak administrative crossings with central Serbia. The barricade near Rudare is around 100 meters long and made of several layers of gravel, construction material, and heavy machinery.
