Prime Minister Mirko Cvetkovic has stated that Serbia did not bear responsibility for the current situation in northern Kosovo. He blamed the Kosovo Albanian authorities in Pristina and international institutions active in the province for the flare-up. Cvetkovic also stated that he believed the Belgrade-Pristina dialogue should be "renewed". The prime minister spoke on Tuesday in Belgrade to call on international representatives to engage in talks with Serbian government officials in order to bring back calm and return to the situation that existed before the crisis.

Cvetković also stated that he believed the Belgrade-Priština dialogue should be "renewed".
