The government will lodge a strong protest with the EU because of Priština's decision to introduce an embargo on Serbian goods, Deputy PM Božidar Đelić says.

The government will lodge a strong protest with the EU because of Pristina's decision to introduce an embargo on Serbian goods, Deputy PM Bozidar Djelic says. The EU has to intervene as a sponsor of the dialogue, Djelic said in Obrenovac after signing on Friday an agreement with the EU on a EUR 178.5mn donation to Serbia. Djelic said that the decision also represents a violation of the foundations on which the dialogue rests, that is the agreement that there would be no unilateral actions that could deprive the dialogue of value. Pristina's embargo for Serbian goods brought dozens of trucks to a halt at administrative crossing of Merdare. The decision of the Pristina administration entered into force on July 20, when customs officers received instructions not to let trucks coming from central Serbia cross over to the territory of Kosovo. Đelić said that the decision also represents a violation of the foundations on which the dialogue rests, that is the agreement that there would be no unilateral actions that could deprive the dialogue of value.

Priština's embargo for Serbian goods brought dozens of trucks to a halt at administrative crossing of Merdare.

The decision of the Priština administration entered into force on July 20, when customs officers received instructions not to let trucks coming from central Serbia cross over to the territory of Kosovo.
