Ratko Mladic's attorney Milos Saljic said Sunday his client's mental state had significantly deteriorated in the past 24 hours and that he had “morbid ideas“. Saljic stressed that it was impossible to discuss defense before the Hague Tribunal with Mladic. Lawyer: Mladic's health deteriorates “I was listening and writing down his orders the entire time. He keeps talking about visiting his daughter's grave and he has been having morbid ideas, like that they should bring him the coffin with his daughter's body if they won't let him visit her grave,“ he told reporters after visiting his client. Saljic said that Mladic was satisfied with the way he was treated in prison and that he was spending his time talking to guards. He stressed that Mladic's condition was alarming and repeated that he had possibly had three strokes. When asked how long he thought Mladic would live, the attorney said that conditions in prison were not adequate and that his client needed to be treated in hospital. “He is not making sense, he says he will walk to The Hague if his conditions are not met,“ Saljic said. He added that he had no confidence in health care in The Hague where “five Serbs died due to inadequate treatment“. Mladic's lawyer repeated that he would mail an appeal to the decision to extradite his client tomorrow and that he would also file a request to form an independent medical commission to examine Mladic. He added that it was a matter of time when the former Bosnian Serbs commander's pension would be unfrozen. Members of the family also paid a visit to Mladic today. Mladic's son Darko told reporters Sunday that the court doctor had determined that Mladic was fit to stand trial and that his condition did not require hospital treatment. Darko Mladic added that he would go to the Serb Radical Party (SRS) rally tonight. A file photo of Ratko Mladic
